She clings to her ego reinforcing belief system, and through this “window”, she perceives the world, holding it up like a shield. Taped to the front of the frame is her image, a delusion of self, the image she wants everyone to see - an image of the perfect, ideal, woman (after DaVinci). The Universe swirls around her.


The painting is called “Survivor”, because it represents the way most of us live and survive through life. The woman is responsible for her suffering and the more desperately she clings to her ego and beliefs, the more she suffers. You can see the madness in her head, the pain body lurking behind the mask.  For fun, I wrote three words in the paint cracks on the window frame: Wanting, Thwarted Wanting, and Indifference. Details are included below.
