This image is a fairly literal depiction of confronting one’s demons or fear. Many of us have our own inner challenges that we wish we could conquer but we often feel as if we are fighting with our hands tied behind our back. I think that the strength of this image is in the hope it projects: to stand up to our fear even when we feel disadvantaged. The Boxer represents an individual that has trained themselves not to be afraid and to keep themselves in superb condition in order to stay vigilant and true in their purpose. In this case, the truth is to be able to squarely look at his darker self and not cower. Our own demons are often the most difficult opponents to face. Detail included.
